New features in version 9.0.0.4

Version 9.0.0.4 of OpenPages® includes enhancements to the dashboard, charts, logging, questionnaires, and more.

If you forget your password, you can reset it

Applies to: On Cloud On premises

Users can click Forgot password? on the login screen if they forget their password. On the Forgot password page, they can enter their username to get an email message explaining how to reset their password.

If a user's access to OpenPages is controlled using single sign-on (SSO) as the authentication method, or if the user's access is controlled by an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) authentication server, the user gets an email message explaining that they can't reset their password.

If an administrator disables this feature by setting /Platform/Security/Password/Reset/Enabled to false, the Forgot password? link doesn't appear on the login screen.

Stacked bar charts

You can now configure a stacked bar chart on the dashboard and the Task View Designer.

For more information, see the Chart diagram examples topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.

Multiple dashboard tabs

You can add report and custom tabs to your dashboard. The dashboard can contain up to three tabs for Cognos® and OpenPages reports and up to three custom tabs.

Important: Report tabs are not supported for OpenPages as a Service.

You might want to create custom tabs rather than adding to the Home tab to keep it tidy and to maintain performance. Also, you might want to use custom tabs to group related panels and widgets in separate places.

Your administrator might have created report and custom tabs for the profile that you belong to. If this is the case, you can retain the tabs or remove them and add your own, such as tabs for reports that you access more frequently.

For more information, see the Adding a report or custom tab topic in the IBM OpenPages User Guide.

Remove an added locale

You can now remove a locale that was previously added if you don't need it anymore.

For more information, see the Removing locales topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.

Skip if it exists option in questionnaire response actions

If you don't want a response action to try re-creating a new object if an object by the same name already exists, select Skip if it exists.

For more information, see the Creating an object based on a respondent's answers topic in the IBM OpenPages User Guide.

Expressions in set field operations in questionnaires

You can now enter an expression for the value of a field. For example, you can enter [$TODAY$] for the current date, [$END_USER$] ` for the name of the signed on user, or [$System Fields:Description$] to set the field to the value of the Description field of the object.

For more information, see the Setting an object's field values based on a respondent's answers topic in the IBM OpenPages User Guide.

Session tracing

An administrator can set /Applications/Common/Administration/Session Tracing to enable tracing for a user's actions.

Diagnostic data

You can use a new system tracing option to capture diagnostic data related to database performance.

For more information, see the Gathering logs with the LogCollector user interface topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.
