Navigating the Situation Status Tree

This customizable workspace displays OMEGAMON situations in a tree structure in the enhanced 3270UI.

OMEGAMON monitoring agents generate events when certain performance thresholds are exceeded. These are displayed in the Situation Status Tree, on the Events tab. To display the tree, use the events or alerts command from any workspace.

The Situation Status Tree lets you expand situation branches to see more detail about the situations that make up the status tree. Once you have expanded a branch, you can quickly drill down to a panel showing detailed information to help you diagnose the situation and decide if action is needed.

When a branch contains child branches, it will have a plus (+) or minus (-) sign near the left edge. When the branch is fully expanded, a minus sign (-) is displayed. Click the plus sign to expand and display the child branches.

Event Zoom

Event Zoom provides a quick navigation from a monitored event to the product workspace, so you can research the problem. The fastest way to use Event Zoom is to double-click on the situation you want to look at.

The destination workspace for a situation is defined in the KN3SIT member in RKANPARU. The supplied KN3SIT member contains a few definitions as examples of how to define the destination workspace.

Other options are also available from the Situation Status Tree. To choose one, enter a "/" in the entry field under the situation you want to see, then press ENTER. This will display the Options Menu. From this menu, you can choose from these options (the first one, S, is the same as double-clicking on the situation):
  1. S Zoom to OMEGAMON
  2. V Event details
  3. E Edit Situation
  4. D Situation definition
  5. A Situation Events
  6. L Situation Status Log (TSITSTSH)
  7. R Raw event details

You can also enter any of the Options Menu commands in the entry field under the situation you want to see, then press ENTER.

For more information on Event Zoom, access online help by pressing F1, then expanding New Features, then selecting the first OMEGAMON item in the list and paging down to the help on Event Zoom.
