New in version 7.5.0 Fix Pack 7

The following updates are available in Version 7.5.0 Fix Pack 7.

IBM® MQ Monitoring Agent

Channel Initiator Statistics reported by IBM MQ in SMF Type 115 records are now supported by the MQ Monitoring agent with two new attribute groups, Channel Initiator Control and Channel Initiator Tasks, which support current, recent and historical reporting in both the Enhanced 3270UI and Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP).

SMF data reported by the MQ agent has been updated for currency with recent MQ releases for Message Manager, Log Manager, and SMDS Statistics. Attributes (columns) were added to several attribute groups (tables). For more information, see: Log Manager Long-Term History, Log Manager Short-Term History, Message Manager Long-Term History, Message Manager Short-Term History, SMF Data, SMDS Statistics, SMDS Long-Term History, and SMDS Short-Term History.

Sample date and time has been added to sampled attribute groups used in situations so that the time that data was collected can be known when a situation becomes true. (RFE) For more information, see: Application Statistics, Application Queue Statistics, Application Transaction/Program Statistics, Channel Initiator Detail, Channel Statistics, Managers, TCPIP Started Listeners, Queue Statistics, Channel Summary, SMF Data, SMDS Statistics.

Enumerations have been updated for currency with recent IBM MQ releases.

Several attribute groups have been updated with new attributes for currency with IBM MQ and with OMEGAMON Data Provider, and for completeness. For more information, see: Namelist, Queue Handle Status, Queue Status, Application Connections, Connection Objects, Current Queue Manager Status, Queue Data.

Workspaces in the enhanced 3270 user interface have been updated for the attribute additions as well as for other improvements.

The e3270UI and TEP have been updated to allow enablement of historical collections for all attribute groups in which historical recording is considered possible, so that theOMEGAMON Data Provider (ODP) can provide even more of the data collected by the MQ Monitoring agent when so configured. This change is not meant to alter the set of recommended attribute groups for historical recording as given in the best practices section.

Situation processing for the Queue Status attribute group has been improved for when there are multiple situations started for it.

Queue Handle Status subpanels in the Enhanced 3270UI for details on a specific queue have been updated to show open queue handles across queue managers in the queue-sharing group.

Support has been added for optional AUTORESTART(YES) specification on the SET MQIMONITOR parameter statement to allow the IBM MQ Monitoring Agent to restart MQI monitoring for a queue manager if it stops due to filling the maximum buffer size specification. The default is NO. It is recommended that you review your agent logs for MQI monitoring messages first to determine current behavior, and if messages KMQMQ419W and KMQMQ206E are occurring, increase the BUFFERSIZEMAX parameter if it is not already at the maximum 2048 value. If message KMQMQ206E is occurring, AUTORESTART(YES) will cause the agent to restart the monitoring automatically at the next sample interval.

Missing topic and subscription related columns have been added to the e3270UI Connection Objects workspaces.
