Next steps
After you have completed the steps for deploying the basic architecture, you can optionally install the Web GUI.
Important: If you want to proceed by deploying
the basic failover architecture, do not install the Web GUI at
this point. Instead, install the Web GUI after
you have completed the steps for deploying the basic failover architecture.
Proceed as follows:
- You can install the Web GUI with the IBM Installation Manager GUI or console, or do a silent installation. Installing and updating the Web GUI component describes the available options for installing the Web GUI with IBM Installation Manager.
- After the Web GUI is
installed, you can start a tool that performs postinstallation configuration.
You can also configure the Web GUI in
silent mode. If you do not run the postinstallation configuration
utility you can perform all the tasks manually.
The tool creates a single data source that is called "OMNIBUS,". You need to specify the host and port number, and the user name and password for that ObjectServer. The tool uses the ObjectServer for user authentication and creates default Web GUI users and groups in that ObjectServer. After the tool finishes configuring the product, the server is automatically restarted.
The initial password for default user accounts, for example ncoadmin and ncouser, is netcool. You should change this password in a production environment.
