Device operation events
Device operation events indicate the success or failure of configuration activities against a device.
An individual device change, for example, the loading of a configuration onto a device, is known in Netcool Configuration Manager as a task. The completion of a task on a device causes an event to be generated.
In addition to indicating that a task has been completed on a device, device operation events also indicate whether the device configuration was changed as a result of the task.
Device operation events can be identified using the Agent field,
which has the value Task trap
for device operation
events. Device operation events are categorized by event ID, as described
in the following table. The EventId field does
not display by default in the Active Event List.
Your system administrator can add the EventId field
to the columns displayed in the Active Event List.
