IBM Maximo Spatial Asset Management, Version 7.6

Creating GIS objects in a remote database or separate database schemas

Feature class tables can exist in a remote database or in a separate database schema in the local Maximo® database. You can create GIS objects that expose these feature class tables.

About this task

You create a temporary table that is based on database tables that exist in the local Maximo database schema. The temporary table is required because the Database Configuration application supports only object creation that is based on database tables that exist in the local Maximo database schema.

After you create the temporary table, you perform the following tasks:
  • Create a GIS object.
  • Replace the temporary table with a synonym that points to the real feature class table

If using versioned feature class tables, this task is relevant to the multiversioned view that is based on the feature class table.
