What's new in Maximo Health 8.9 and Maximo Predict 8.9

Learn about what's new and changed in Maximo Health and Maximo Predict.

Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities is no longer a separate industry solution

Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities is no longer available as a separate industry solution. If Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities is deployed and active in your environment and you are upgrading to Maximo Application Suite 8.11, you must deactivate and delete Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities before you can complete the upgrade. Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities 8.6 is the last version that is offered separately. The utilities models and visualizations, such as the asset investment optimizer and the matrix, are now included in Maximo Health and Maximo Predict.

If IBM Watson® Studio is installed, you can use notebooks as a scoring group in Maximo Health. If IBM App Connect is installed, you can use it to load your data to Maximo Health.

Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities 8.6 or earlier versions that you are using with Maximo Application Suite 8.10 or earlier still have product support.

For more information, see Updating Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities.

The IBM Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution accelerator replaces Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities in Maximo Application Suite 8.11.

IBM Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution

IBM Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution can help improve the reliability of energy and utility assets and locations. You can use it to predict downtime, degradation, and failures by using model templates and visualizations. This accelerator enables utilities companies to deliver safer, reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution include prebuilt notebooks and configuration files for several industry-specific asset classes for features that are available in Maximo Health and Maximo Predict.

For more information, see IBM Maximo Models for Electrical Distribution.

The asset investment optimizer and the matrix are now available in Maximo Health

You can use the asset investment optimizer to generate optimized investments for your assets and achieve business and operational goals. You can create investment projects, specify strategies, and compare analyzed investment strategies. Asset investment optimization requires that an end of life curve is configured in the asset class notebooks and that a predicted risk curve exists before assets can be optimized. For more information, see Setting asset investment optimization.

You can use the matrix to gain insights into the future performance of your assets by visualizing their health, risk, end of life, criticality scores, and custom scores. For more information, see Configuring the matrix.

Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) is available in Maximo Health

You can access dissolved gas analysis visualizations that use your own input and output model data. When assets are in a group where DGA settings are enabled, DGA visualizations are shown on the Health details page.

For dissolved gas analysis for transformer-type assets, Maximo Health includes a Duval triangle card and the History of combustible gas analysis card. The Duval triangle card contains DGA samples and the percentages of methane, ethylene, and acetylene in each sample. The History of combustible gas analysis card contains a history of samples and the condition rating of each sample.

For more information, see Getting started for data scientists.

JSON file can be used to train the anomaly detection model in Maximo Predict

You do not need to edit a notebook to train the anomaly detection model. You can configure the JSON file and run the notebook to train the model. Anomaly detection model training and deployment can be done by using one notebook.

For more information, see Automating notebook uploads in IBM Watson Studio.

Minute or hourly level frequency for Anomaly Detection scoring

You can view minute or hourly level frequency scoring for anomaly detection in Maximo Health.

For more information, see Asset details views.

New configuration for integrations and dependencies in Maximo Health

During the installation of Maximo Health, you can now create scoring group calculations from a notebook by configuring the Watson Studio. You can also configure the Watson Studio project ID to use the existing Watson Studio project.

During the installation of Maximo Health, you can configure the App Connect dashboard URL to load data from App Connect.

For more information, see Deploying the Maximo Health.
