Modifying the impact analysis action in the workflow

The best practice PMCHGMAIN1 workflow that is provided for managing full Changes invokes the impact analysis engine to automatically calculate impacts at the specified time, after all implementation tasks are created and have targets associated with them. The default impact analysis action is PMCHGCLIPTCHG, which invokes an analysis based on CI relationship rules. You can remove this action or substitute it with an action that runs a historical analysis.

About this task

If you use the PMCHGMAIN1 workflow for your full Changes but do not want the workflow to automatically run the analysis engine during the Change process, remove the PMCHGCLIPTCHG action from the workflow. Substitute this action with the PMCHGHISIPTCHG action if you want the engine to retrieve impact data based on historically identified impacts.

You make these Changes in the Workflow Designer application; to access the this application, click Open menu > System Configuration > Platform Configuration > Workflow Designer. In the Workflow Designer application, click Help > Help to access instructions for creating and modifying workflows.

For more information about actions, go to the Actions application at Open menu > System Configuration > Platform Configuration > Actions. To see a list of all of the built-in actions that are provided with this product, type PMCHG in the Action field, and press the Enter key. In the Actions application, click Help > Help to access instructions for creating and modifying actions.
