What's new in the Manage Inventory Work Center
The enhancements that are included in the Manage Inventory Work Center streamline the inventory processes for improved storeroom management.
- Picking and staging inventory
- To help maximize efficient movement of inventory out of storage locations, you can add inventory pick lists and issue inventory by line or by batch. Optionally, you can specify intermediate staging locations. You can monitor items as all lines move forward through the process. You can work with individual lines or batches of lines. An autosplit feature helps with bin and lot selection. Bar coding is available for many data entry points. All transactions are recorded for later review.
- Reconciling inventory balances
- After a physical inventory count, you can reconcile the new count values with any transactions that were recorded after the count transactions were recorded. You can preview the results of a balance reconciliation. The preview captures changes from the date and time of the physical count and the date and time of the preview table refresh.
- Adding item condition codes and rates
- To improve efficiency and enhance the ability to track inventory costs, now you can add condition codes to an item's Detail page in the Manage Inventory Work Center. Condition codes and rates specify an item's physical condition and cost and help you to track costs as an item's physical condition changes.
- Autonumbering of new items
- When you add new items, they are automatically numbered. Prefixes and seeds for autonumbering can be configured in the Organizations application. The item number can be edited until the item is saved.
- Bar code scanning when you're working with inventory
- In many areas of the Manage Inventory Work Center, you can reduce manual data entry effort by scanning bar codes. For example, you can scan a code to select an existing bin or lot when you issue or transfer items or when you are working with pick lists.
