The App Lock settings manage the functions of an app that is locked down on a supervised device.

Common native app IDs

The administrator can lock any app on the device, including native apps such as phone or email. The following lists the most common native app IDs:

App lock settings

The following table describes the settings that the administrator can configure for a locked app on a supervised iOS device:
Policy setting Description Supported devices
Allow touch input The user can touch the device screen to enter information in the app. iOS 7.0+
Allow device rotation The user can rotate the device. iOS 7.0+
Allow volume button control The user can control the volume setting on the device. If this setting is disabled, the volume level remains at the same level that was last used before the setting was disabled. iOS 7.0+
Allow ringer switch control The user can control the ringer setting for the device. If this setting is disabled, the ringer setting remains at the same setting that was last used before the setting was disabled. iOS 7.0+
Allow Sleep/Wake button control The user can control the Sleep/Wake button on the device. iOS 7.0+
Allow Auto Lock The user can automatically lock the device after a certain amount of time. iOS 7.0+

Accessibility options

The following table describes the accessibility settings that the administrator can configure on a supervised iOS device:

Enable VoiceOver The user can access the VoiceOver screen reader on the device. iOS 7.0+
Enable Zoom The user can access the built-in screen magnifier on the device. iOS 7.0+
Enable Invert Colors The user can invert the colors that are displayed on the device screen. iOS 7.0+
Enable AssistiveTouch The user can still access a multi-touch screen on the device even if an app is locked on the device. iOS 7.0+
Enable Speak Selection The user can still highlight a specific range of text and listen to the text on the device even if an app is locked on the device. iOS 7.0+
Enable Mono Audio The user can use the Mono Audio feature (where iOS plays both audio channels, left and right channels, in both ears) on the device. iOS 7.0+
Allow VoiceOver adjustment The user can change the VoiceOver screen reader settings on the device. iOS 7.0+
Allow Zoom adjustment The user can change the built-in screen features on the device. iOS 7.0+
Allow Invert Colors adjustment The user can change the inverted color settings on the device. iOS 7.0+
Allow AssistiveTouch adjustment The user can change the multi-touch screen settings on the device. iOS 7.0+
