Email

The Email settings configure email account settings on a Windows device.

The following table describes the email settings that you can configure on a Windows device:

Account display name The name of the email account.

Mail server hostname (for outgoing mail) The host name of the mail server that is used for outgoing email messages.

Email sync frequency Synchronizes the email mailbox on the device every fifteen minutes, thirty minutes, 1 hour, two hours, or manually synchronizes the email mailbox on the device as needed.

Maximum email size (KB) for auto download Select the maximum email size that can be downloaded automatically. Supported email size values are 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 20, 50 KB. Emails that exceed the specified limit are truncated. Windows Phone
Maximum attachment size (KB) for auto download Select the maximum email attachment size that can be downloaded automatically. Supported attachment mail size values are 0, 25, 50, 125, 250 KB. Email attachments that exceed the specified limit are truncated. This setting applies to the IMAP email profile.

Always use cellular data for sync If this setting is enabled, devices use only the cellular data network for synchronization. A wifi network is not used for synchronization.
