Editors

The main portion of the InfoSphere® MDM Workbench perspectives is allocated to editors.

Depending on the view you have chosen in the MDM Configuration perspective, you can work with a number of file types (for example, .imm, .alg, or .arm. InfoSphere MDM Workbench also supports other editor types, including standard text and Java™ editors.

Configuration editor

There are two configuration editor interface options: Basic and Expert.

The Basic Interface can be used with existing projects, such as those that use a template or accelerator (such as Individual, Organization, Patient, or Provider) and for all Probabilistic Matching Engine algorithms. The Basic Interface gives you a quick path to configuring your operational server. Using this interface allows you to define your sources, modify the pre-configured template or probabilistic matching engine data model, specify attributes for matching, and configure anonymous and equivalent string files. All actions taken from the Basic Interface automatically modifies your underlying algorithm without requiring you to access the algorithm editor.

The Expert Interface provides full access to the operational server configuration, and is intended for new project development and advanced customization. The Expert Interface is designed for use when you choose a Basic or Empty template during project creation, or when your operational server requires deeper customization. From this interface you can create and define your member type data model and attributes; define task, linkage, and relationships rules; establish thresholds and generate weights; register callout handlers; customize your algorithm through the algorithm editor; manage applications, and configure audit and history settings.

Most of the tables in the Configuration editor can be sorted by clicking a column heading. A small arrow indicates how the data is sorted: an up arrow means that the sort is ascending, and a down arrow means that the sort is descending.

Both interface options use the project .imm file.

See Configuration editor.

Algorithms

Within the Configuration editor Expert Interface, you can use the Algorithms editor to create and modify algorithm .alg files. The .alg file associated with a project is used in the operational server to apply comparison logic. See Algorithms.

Inspector Configuration

Use the Inspector Configuration Editor to edit the inspector.arm configuration file. After the configuration file is deployed to the operational server, all users of InfoSphere MDM Inspector have access to the same configuration. For more information about using the Inspector Configuration editor, see InfoSphere MDM Inspector Configuration.
