Importing mapped values into mappings

You import data from comma-separated values (CSV) files into a mapping to relate associated data in two reference data sets.

Before you begin

  1. Create a CSV file as described in Creating a CSV file.
  2. Create a mapping set as described in Creating mappings.

Procedure

  1. Click the Mappings tab and select the mapping you want to work with.
  2. Right-click the mapping and select Import.... The Import Mappings wizard opens. Alternatively, you can double-click the mapping to open the mapping detail tab and click Import.
  3. On the Choose Import File tab, browse for a CSV file to import.
  4. Choose the separator used in the file. In most cases, CSV files use commas to separate fields, but your file might use a different character.
  5. Indicate the wanted date and date/time format.
  6. Click Next.
  7. On the Map File Columns tab, choose the CSV column for each property in the set. The Code property must be mapped.
  8. Click Next.
  9. On the Preview File tab, review the mappings selected. Click the Errors Found tab, if present, to review any errors found. Make any needed corrections to the mapping at this time.
  10. Click Finish to begin importing the data.
Note: Any values that were previously mapped in the current mapping are not imported.
