Changes in this release

In Version 11.5 of InfoSphere Information Server, JAQL and InfoSphere Data Quality Console functionality are not supported. The InfoSphere Data Quality Console functionality was superseded by the Data Quality Exception Events component during the InfoSphere Information Server, version 11.3 release.

In previous releases of InfoSphere Information Server, several new stages were introduced to provide better performance and currency for the set of database technologies they cover. In this release, the following older Connectivity stages were removed and fully replaced by their newer counterparts in order to optimize the connectivity infrastructure:
  • DB2 API, DB2 Bulk Load, DB2 zLoad Enterprise Stage
  • DRS
  • Oracle OCI and Oracle OCI Bulk Load
  • Teradata API and Teradata Bulk Load

For more information about stages that supersede the older stages, see the Alphabetical list of stages.

In this release of InfoSphere Information Server, some of the older stages mentioned above are removed. If you are using a connectivity stage that was removed in Version 11.5, you should migrate the connectors before you migrate to Version 11.5 because if you experience any issues with new connectors, you can use the jobs on your old system as a back-up.

When you upgrade to InfoSphere Information Server, Version 11.5, you must migrate jobs that use deprecated older stages by using the Connector Migration Tool before the upgrade. The Connector Migration Tool automates the process of migrating to newer connectors. The Connector Migration Tool connects to a project, identifies jobs that use older plug-ins and enterprise stages, and allows you to select jobs to automatically update with newer connectors. The Connector Migration Tool is supported from InfoSphere Information Server, Version 8.5 and later. You can run the Connector Migration Tool in InfoSphere Information Server version 8.5 to version 11.5, after importing jobs. For the older stages that are not deprecated, you can use the Connector migration tool even after the upgrade.
