Installing the stand-alone IBM MQ Web Server

From IBM® MQ 9.3.5, you can install the stand-alone IBM MQ Web Server from a download that is available from Fix Central.

About this task

The IBM MQ Web Server runs the IBM MQ Console and REST API. You can download the stand-alone IBM MQ Web Server from Fix Central and install it as a stand-alone application on as many systems as you require.

The stand-alone IBM MQ Web Server is available only on the following platforms:
  • Linux® for x86-64
  • Linux on Power® Systems - Little Endian
  • Linux for IBM Z®
Note: You can also install the IBM MQ Console and REST API as an optional component of an IBM MQ installation. For more information about the installation options for the IBM MQ component that runs the IBM MQ Console and REST API, see The IBM MQ Console and REST API.

Procedure

  1. Download the stand-alone IBM MQ Web Server installation file.
    Follow this link to Fix Central. Select the correct version of the download package for your system. The download package is a tar.gz file, for example 9.3.5.0-IBM-MQ-Web-Server-LinuxX64.tar.gz.
  2. Create an installation directory on the target system.
  3. Decompress the tar.gz file that you downloaded to the installation directory.
