IBM® Fast Data Movement version 1.0.2 introduces the ability to run data movement from Db2® Warehouse environment. For more information, see Running data movement from Db2 Warehouse.
Version 1.0
IBM Fast Data Movement version 1.0 functionality is very similar to IBM Fluid Query data movement feature that is provided for NPS. IBM Fast Data Movement supports Db2 Warehouse and Integrated Analytics System in moving data between these systems and Hadoop platforms.
In comparison with IBM Fluid Query, the following limitations apply to version 1.0:
- Data movement can only be run from Hadoop.
- Checksums calculation is not supported.
- Incremental mode of appending tables is not supported.
- Data can only be transferred in text mode. No compression during transfer is supported, however the data imported from Db2 Warehouse can be stored in compressed Hadoop-specific formats.
