Configuring your appliance with the apsetup script
With the apsetup interactive script, you can change some of the configuration parameters and initial installation settings.
The interactive tool asks the user to choose from options to change system settings and configurations. Every option on the initial list has sub-menus. The following is a short brief on how every option in the main menu is further divided into multiple options, and their respective use.
Any member of the ibmapadmin group can run the apsetup script
using the command line, and select from the following configuration options:
1: General Appliance Settings1: Time Zone ConfigurationChange time zone. There are 12 time zone settings available.
2: User SettingsChange
apuserpassword,bluadminpassword, reset lockedbluadminaccount and change internal and external LDAP settings. LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is used for managing directories over the IP addresses.1: Change apuser Password2: Change bluadmin Password3: Reset the locked bluadmin Account4: Internal/External LDAP SettingsSelect the type of Users:1: Database UsersThis option can be used to perform LDAP related operations for Db2 Warehouse database users:1: List usersList internal/external LDAP users depending on which LDAP is enabled for dashDB
2: Disable External LDAPThis option will disable any external LDAP (OpenLDAP or Microsoft AD)
3: Enable External LDAPThis option can be used to enable external LDAP for dashDB. There are currently two ldaps that can be enabled for dashDB: OpenLDAP and Microsoft AD. These have different SSL methods (never, starttls or ldaps). User will need to enter the required LDAP configurations to enable LDAP.

- 2: Platform UsersThis option can be used to perform LDAP related operations for platform users.
1: List usersList internal/external LDAP users depending on which LDAP is enabled for platform.
2: Disable External LDAP3: Enable external LDAP*: Return to Select the type of Users menu

3: Change Database SettingsChange database related settings like convert a database from one type to another (row, column, idaa), enable or disable database compatibility with ORACLE server, change Guardium (database security tool) information and set bluDR (a disaster recovery solution) data path. In the event of a system failure, the system will look for data in the bluDR path to recover from the failure.

Use this option to set the data path for IBM Data Replication for Availability (BluDR disaster recovery solution) and the changes will be written to the bluDR config file. In the event of a system failure, the system will look for data in the bluDR path to recover from the failure.

4: Continuous Availability SettingsAdd, remove and list the target systems and restart server after making changes.
- 1: Add trusted target system
You can add a target system by entering the hostname of the target system. The host username of the target system is added to the list of the bluDR trusted systems.
- 2: Remove trusted target system
You can remove a target system by entering the host of the target system. The host username of the target system is removed from the list of the bluDR trusted systems.

2: Network Configuration- 1: Show current network config
Displays information about hosts, IP address, Gateway, DNS, Interfaces.
- 2: Configure interfaces, bonds, and VLANs
- 1: Show interfaces, bonds and VLANs
Display the name, speed and status (disabled/enabled) of bonds, VLANs and network interfaces which are the point of connection between the machine and the public or private networks.
- 2: Select an interface to configure
Enter the name of the interface you want to configure. Add/Remove VLANs associated with the interface, change speed, Enable/Disable the interface and configure bonding mode.

- 3: Configure hostnames, IP addresses, gateway and static routes
Display existing hosts and IP addresses. Add/Delete IP and gateway addresses on hosts. Configure the network gateway. Configure static routing by manually configuring a path between two routers. Add/Delete static routes.
- 4: Configure DNS
Display DNS information. Add/Remove nameserver IP Address. Add/Remove search domain.
- 5: Clear network settings
Remove set network configurations.
- 6: Quit (without saving changes) and Exit
- 7: Save Config and Exit (without applying)
- 8: Save Config and Apply Config
- 9: Revert Config to default settings
- 1: Show current network config
3: Services Configuration- 1: NTP Server Configuration
List/Add/Remove NTP servers for the appliance.

- 2: Add NTP Server
- 3: Remove NTP Server
- *: Return to Services Configuration menu
