Hosts that run the VMware ESXi operating system
Fibre Channel attachments between the system and various guest host operating systems that run on the ESXi operating system have specific requirements and other guidelines that need to be followed.
Note: The system supports VMware vSphere Virtual Volumes that allow VMware vCenter to manage system
objects like volumes and pools. Virtual Volumes provide storage that
is used by specific virtual servers, and also correspond to single volumes on the system. The
system administrator can assign ownership to VMware administrators to create the pools and
volumes that are used exclusively for Virtual Volumes. For more
information, see the information about configuring Virtual Volumes.
