The IBM Power Systems EXP24S I/O Drawer

The IBM Power Systems EXP24S I/O Drawer (FC 5887) is a 2U rack-mountable storage enclosure that supports two environmental service modules (ESMs). The standard EXP24S ESMs have two 6 Gbps x 4 SAS host interface ports. The supported host interface card is a four-port 6 Gbps SAS adpater.

Figure 1 shows a front view of the EXP24S I/O Drawer.

Figure 2 shows a 2U drawer with SSDs in slots 1 through 24.

In a 2U building-block configuration with two SSDs, the two SSDs go in the left-most slot (slot 1) and the right-most slot (slot 24) of the first storage enclosure, which is at the bottom of the rack, as shown in the following figure.

Figure 3 shows a 2U drawer with SSDs in slots 1 and 24.
