Slack WebHook alert receivers

With Databand, you can use Slack WebHooks to send alerts directly to your Slack channels.

Attention: The Slack WebHook feature will be deprecated by Slack. To avoid potential disruptions to your alerts due to deprecation, it is recommended that you use Slack (bot) to create Slack alert receivers with Databand.

Prerequisites

Before you can create a Slack WebHook receiver, you must have a Slack Incoming WebHook URL. For more information, see the Slack documentation.

Creating a Slack WebHook receiver

After you have your Slack Incoming WebHook URL, complete the following steps to create a Slack webhook receiver:

  1. Go to Alerts > Receivers > Add receiver.
  2. Select Slack as the Alert type and enter the following information:
    Receiver name
    The name of the receiver displayed in Databand.
    Slack webhook URL
    The Incoming WebHook URL, for example: http://slack.app.example-url/#example.
    Slack channel
    The name of the Slack channel (#channel-name) where you want to receive Slack notifications.
  3. Validate the configuration by clicking Test connection.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Choose the defined alerts that you want to be notified about through this receiver, then click Save.
