Slack bot alert receivers

With Databand, you can create a Slack API app to use a Slack bot to send alert notifications directly to your Slack channels.

If you don't have a Slack API app in your Databand environment, complete the Prerequisites. If you do have a Slack API app in your Databand environment, go directly to the Create receiver section.

Prerequisites

To create a Slack receiver, you must first have a Slack API app that is connected to your Databand environment. You need only one Slack API app per Slack workspace.

  1. In the Databand UI, go to Settings > Organization, then in the Slack tile click Connect app.
  2. Copy the manifest.
  3. Go to the Slack API app website and click Create New App.
  4. Choose From a manifest and click Next.
  5. Select the Slack workspace where the channel that you want to connect with Databand is located.
  6. Paste the manifest from the Databand UI into the Create app from manifest dialog and click Next then Create.
  7. In the Basic Information section of your Slack app, copy the Signing secret and paste it into the Databand UI.
  8. Go to your Slack app then go to OAuth & Permissions > OAuth tokens and Install the app to your workspace. Depending on your organization's requirements, you might have to Request to Install your app.
  9. After your app is installed in your workspace, copy the Bot User OAuth Token and paste it into the Bot token field of the Databand UI.
  10. In the Databand Connect Slack panel, click Next.
