You can configure the server to reduce the number of component versions by archiving old
versions. You can specify global cleanup settings, cleanup settings for individual components, and
cleanup settings for specific environments.
About this task
The server archives a full or incremental component version if it meets these criteria:
- The component version is not currently deployed to an environment and is not listed in
the inventory of a resource
- The component version is not part of a snapshot
- The component version is older than the minimum number of days that the server,
component, and deployed environments retain component versions
- The number of newer versions is greater than or equal to the Default Number
of Versions to Retain for the server, component, and deployed environments
Note: If a component version meets these criteria, it is archived, even if the version
was deployed to an environment in the past.
Note: Beginning with version 6.1, the
server stores full copies of each component artifact, even if the files are
duplicates.
