DB2 Version 10.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

-s parameter of the db2iupdt command has been discontinued

The -s parameter of the db2iupdt command is no longer available because the existing SPM log directory can not be ignored.

Details

The db2iupdt command performs the following functions:
  • Updates an instance to run on a DB2® copy that has a new DB2 database product or feature installed
  • Updates an instance to run on a DB2 copy of the same version as the DB2 copy that is associated with the instance
  • Updates an instance type to a later-release instance type
In previous releases on UNIX and Linux operating systems, you could specify the -s parameter to ignore the existing sync point manager (SPM) log directory.

User response

On all operating systems, this parameter of the db2iupdt command is no longer available. On UNIX and Linux operating systems, do not indicate this parameter with the db2iupdt command. If you indicate this parameter, the existing sync point manager (SPM) log directory will not be ignored and an error will be returned.
