Upgrading an existing Db2 for z/OS repository database
You will need to perform certain steps to successfully migrate an existing Db2® for z/OS® repository database to a new or upgraded version of IBM® Data Server Manager (DSM)
About this task
While a Db2 repository database, residing on a Linux, UNIX, or Windows server, is upgraded automatically when updating your DSM V2.1.3 or newer environment to the latest release, additional steps are required when your repository database resides on a Db2 for z/OS server.
Procedure
To migrate an existing DSM repository database from a Db2 for z/OS server:
- Update your existing DSM installation.
- Log into DSM and go to .
- From the Repository Database Configuration Page, click Edit.
- Click Download migration DDLs, to download the migration DDL for the repository.
- Execute the migration DDL on the repository subsystem.
- (optional) After executing migration DDL statements, navigate to the /samples/DB2Z folder of your DSM installation folder, and then locate and run validate.sql, to ensure that all the repository tables are created.
- Log out of DSM, log back in, and return to the Repository Database Configuration page.
