Supported standards and protocols
- Data format and language
- GatewayScript (JavaScript run time)
- GatewayScript provides a flexible and familiar programming run time for custom or complex
processing for mobile, web, and API workloads.

- GraphQL
- Support is provided for the June 2018 edition of the GraphQL specification.
For limitations of the GraphQL DataPower implementation, see GraphQL limitations.
- Support is provided for the June 2018 edition of the GraphQL specification.
- JSON
- A DataPower service supports JSON processing for the following actions.
- Convert query parameters to XML with JSON input conversion.
- Transform with XQuery as the transform language and JSON input language.
- Validate with a JSON schema.
- Run a GatewayScript.
The
convert-http
action conforms to RFC 4627, whereas the XQuery transform, the JSON schema validation, and the GatewayScript parser conform to RFC 7159.
- A DataPower service supports JSON processing for the following actions.
- JSONx
- JSONx, an XML Encoding for JSON defined by draft 00. A DataPower service supports JSONx
processing in the following conditions.
- When the service converts a JSON message to an XML message with a
convert-http
action. - When the service processes a JSON message that is specified as the JSON message type.
- When the service converts a JSONx message to a JSON message with a transform action that uses the jsonx2json.xsl stylesheet.

processing in the following conditions.
- JSON schema
- JSON schema validation
-
- Supports JSON schema validation as defined by draft-03, A JSON Media Type for Describing the Structure and Meaning of JSON Documents.
- Supports JSON schema validation as defined by draft-04, A JSON Schema: core definitions and terminology and JSON Schema: interactive and non interactive validation. The specification is also available as a self-describing JSON schema.
- JSONiq
- Support is provided for the following JSONiq specification
- JSONiq defined by draft 0.4.42, with the following limitations and exclusions.
- The XQuery query must include a declaration for the 0.4.42 version of JSONiq. When the query
does not include the declaration, JSONiq is not supported. The declaration must have the following
syntax.
declare option jsoniq-version "0.4.42";
- Support for collections is provided to the same degree as support for collections in XQuery.
- Support excludes JSON updates.
- Support excludes parsing and serialization of JSON with XML.
- Support excludes sequence of input documents.
- The XQuery query must include a declaration for the 0.4.42 version of JSONiq. When the query
does not include the declaration, JSONiq is not supported. The declaration must have the following
syntax.
