IBM Controller Classic
The following new features are available in Controller Classic:
- Selection of the server

You can now select the environment or server you want to connect to before the selection of the database. For more information, see Log on to Controller.
- New access rights in security groups

In the Tab menus in security groups, two menus for Controller Web has been added:
- Backup and restore: Only the users who have the normal access to this menu would have the authorization to do backup and restore in Controller Web.
- Controller API: Only the users who have the normal access to this menu would have the authorization to use import API in Controller Web.
IBM Controller Web
The following new features are available in Controller Web:
- New Controller Web design

Controller Web has been completely re-designed to be in line with the user interface of IBM Planning Analytics by using Carbon. Carbon is IBM's open source design system for products and digital experiences.
- Backup and restore of the databases

You can now backup and restore your databases by yourself using Controller Web.

The Controller API enables you to send data safely and securely to the cloud from outside of the firewall using generic Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools.

- New landing page

The landing page gives a quick overview of the deadlines, the last updated projects, and provide a quick launch to other capabilities.

- Copy of Opening Balances

You can now copy the Opening Balances for the reported values including multi selection of companies from Controller Web.
