Configuring the AFP2PDF conversion viewer (IBM Content Manager OnDemand)

If you have AFP documents on your IBM Content Manager OnDemand repositories, you must install the AFP2PDF conversion tool on the IBM Content Navigator server and configure the web client to support the AFP2PDF conversion viewer. You can choose from the legacy PDF transform or define your own custom transform by using the IBM Content Navigator administration tool.

Before you begin

Before you can configure the web client to support the AFP2PDF conversion viewer, you must install the AFP2PDF conversion tool on the IBM Content Navigator server. If you do not have the AFP2PDF conversion tool installed, contact your IBM representative for information on obtaining and installing the AFP2PDF conversion tool.

Procedure

To configure the AFP2PDF conversion viewer:

  1. Open the administration tool in the web client.
  2. Click Settings > Content Manager OnDemand.
  3. In the AFP2PDF installation directory field, specify the directory where the AFP2PDF conversion tool is installed.
  4. Click Save.
  5. For each repository that includes AFP documents, you must specify the location of the AFP2PDF configuration file that you want to use for the repository:
    1. Click Repositories and select the repository that you want to configure.
    2. In the AFP2PDF configuration file field, enter the fully qualified path of the AFP2PDF configuration file for this repository. The configuration file must be on the web application server.
  6. Specify whether you want the AFP2PDF viewer to use the legacy PDF transform (Legacy) or define your own custom transform (Generic). The transform that you select is also used for AFP documents when using the download as PDF action, send as PDF action, and printing with the Daeja print service.
If you specify the Generic transform, you must enter a transform name. The transform name you enter must be defined in the custom transform file that is specified in the OnDemand repository settings.
  7. Click Save.
