IBM Content Navigator, Version 2.0.3
Supports:
Content Manager, FileNet P8, OnDemand, OASIS CMIS
Administering IBM Content
Navigator components
After you configure and deploy the IBM® Content
Navigator components, you must configure the components for your users and administer your environment.
About this task
Use the following topics to administer the appropriate IBM Content
Navigator components for your users.
Configuring the IBM Content Navigator web client
After you install and deploy IBM Content
Navigator, you must configure
the web client. At a minimum, you must define desktops and configure
connections to your content management repositories to enable users
to access content through the web client.
Integrating IBM FileNet P8 workflows in IBM Content Navigator
You can configure the IBM Content
Navigator web client to display IBM FileNet P8 workflows. To use the workflows,
you must prepare Process Engine for IBM Content
Navigator and configure the repositories
and desktops in your environment to display the workflows.
Administering client machines for IBM Content Navigator
You can optimize the performance of the web client by setting
minimum screen resolutions, limiting favorites and browser sessions,
and following other configuration tips.
Integrating IBM Content Navigator with Microsoft Office IBM Content
Navigator for Microsoft Office enables
you to integrate IBM Content
Navigator features,
like searching, browsing, and checking documents in and out of the
repository, with Microsoft Office
applications.
Configuring sync services for IBM Content Navigator
You enable sync services by specifying the URL by which repositories can communicate
with the IBM Content
Navigator sync services. After you enable the
sync service, you disable Content Engine subscription cache,
enable sync on the repositories and desktops for which you want users to be able to sync
items, and deploy the IBM Content
Navigator Sync client to users by
installing the client silently or interactively.
Configuring access to IBM Content Navigator from mobile devices
You can configure access to mobile devices for users to
add documents or folders to IBM Content
Navigator on
mobile devices. You can also configure custom features such as shortcuts
for opening and viewing other web pages on the mobile devices without
exiting IBM Content
Navigator.
Migrating teamspace templates
If you have multiple repositories or instances of the IBM Content
Navigator web client in your environment,
you can export your teamspace templates to a file that you can then
import to another repository or instance of IBM Content
Navigator.
Monitoring IBM Content Navigator components
The IBM System
Dashboard for Enterprise Content Management includes
two main components: the listener and the dashboard. The listener
receives a stream of events and other performance information from
an IBM Content
Navigator application,
and sends the gathered data to dashboard for analysis and storage.
The listener is the equivalent of an agent in Simple Network Management
Protocol (SNMP). You can use the dashboard to view trends in performance
data.
Backing up IBM Content Navigator
Periodically back up your IBM Content
Navigator system to facilitate
a rapid recovery from situations that result in the loss of data.
Administering IBM CMIS for Content Manager IBM CMIS
for Content Manager can be tuned for your environment so that
the data model is aligned with your library server for better performance.
Administering IBM FileNet Collaboration Services
After you configure and deploy IBM FileNet Collaboration Services, you must ensure that
the appropriate IBM FileNet P8 add-ons
are installed on your object stores. In addition, you can complete
optional administrative tasks to customize the web application for
your environment.
