What's new in IBM Content Manager for z/OS V8.7

IBM Content Manager for z/OS V8.7 introduces the following new features.

Tip: Many of the following features are at least partially supported in mixed software version configurations. For details, see the "Compatibility" section in the IBM Content Manager V8.7.0 Release Notes.

New features

  • Batch update utility supports item type with user defined part: The high volume batch update utility can now be used to change, delete, move or link selected items of item type with user-defined parts. It accepts user-specified commands to change, delete, move or link selected items of component type, regardless of whether the item type has user-defined parts or not. Previously, the utility could perform these operations on only system-defined parts.

    • not equal to (!=)
    • greater than (>)

    These are in addition to the existing equals (=) operator.

  • A white paper is available that describes how to move an IBM Content Manager resource manager on z/OS, including its contents and metadata, to another resource manager on another platform under the same library server, and then stop using the original resource manager and remove it. See Decommissioning a resource manager on z/OS by moving it to another resource manager on another platform.
