The IBM License Key Center is an online
licensing tool. You can use this tool to generate or return your IBM®
Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) or
IBM
Rational® product license keys.
About this task
You must be a member of the IBM License Key Center
account for your company to access your license keys. When you order ELM or
IBM
Rational products from IBM, the person who places the order is set as the
account administrator. The person receives welcome email that contains a temporary password to use
for logging on to IBM License Key Center.
Procedure
- Go to IBM Support - Licensing.
- Click on Login to the License Key
Center.
- Log on to the License Key
Center
using email ID and password.
- If you do not have a password to log on to IBM License Key Center, click the Don't have a
password? link.
- Enter your contact information, the IBM
Site Number, and IBM
Sales Order Number that is associated with your order. The person who placed
the order has both pieces of information in the IBM Proof of Entitlement (PoE) certificate. The
certificate is sent from IBM by email or
hardcopy at the time of purchase.
- After you are added as a member, you receive a welcome email with a temporary password. log on
to IBM License Key Center by using your
password.
Note: The first time you log on to the IBM License Key Center you are asked to change your temporary
password.
What to do next
After you generate your license key, IBM License Key Center shows installation instructions for the
license key. To convert a trial or evaluation version of the product to the permanent production
version, you install the license key after you generate the license key from IBM License Key Center. You do not have to uninstall or
reinstall the product. IBM Common Licensing support
