Installing the Orchestration & Automation license

To access the complete capabilities that are provided by Orchestration & Automation, you must install your Orchestration & Automation license.

Before you begin

You must have the license with the software entitlement from Orchestration & Automation. For information about how to acquire a license, see License options.

About this task

This task describes how to install the license from the Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform interface and is provided as an example based on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform v4.3.x.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform as Red Hat OpenShift Administrator.
  2. Select Workloads > Secrets and select your IBM Security QRadar® Suite Software project, for example cp4s.
  3. Use the filter to search for the isc-cases-customer-license secret, and select the secret.
  4. Click Actions > Edit Secret.
  5. In the Value section, paste the details of the license provided by IBM. Alternatively, you can click Browse to search for and select a clear text file that contains the license details if you have the license details saved previously.
  6. Click Save.

Results

The application takes a few minutes to restart, and the newly licensed software becomes available. You can confirm that the license is installed correctly by logging on to IBM Security QRadar Suite Software and going to Application settings > Case Management > Customization and clicking Customization Settings > Scripts. If the license is not installed correctly, you see a message The Action Module is not enabled. If you do not see this message, the license is installed correctly.
Important: To access the Orchestration & Automation (SOAR) settings from Case Management > Customization, you must have Admin access to Orchestration & Automation from IBM Security QRadar Suite Software and a role assigned that includes Administration and Customization Permissions. For more information, see Access and permissions for Orchestration and Automation.
Tip:

If you want to revert to the default license at a later stage, go to the Secrets option on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and delete the value that you entered here. The application pod restarts and the default license is reenabled.
