Installing

A IBM Cloud Pak® for Integration installation consists of a Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform cluster with one or more operators installed and one or more deployed instances. You can complete all the installation steps yourself or simplify the process by installing on a managed cluster from a cloud provider.

The main installation tasks are therefore as follows:

  1. Add catalog sources, to make the Cloud Pak for Integration operators available to the cluster.

  2. Install the Cloud Pak for Integration operators.

  3. Apply your entitlement key.

  4. Deploy the IBM Cloud Pak Platform UI and other instances.

Express installation

Express installation is a streamlined procedure aimed at getting you started quickly. This instructions take you through deployment of the Platform UI, at which point you can decide which other operators to install, and instances to deploy. This procedure assumes that you are installing Cloud Pak for Integration on an internet-connected cluster by using the OpenShift web console.

Manual installation

Follow the instructions in the Manual installation section, which covers all the installation tasks in detail.

Automated installation

Automated installation options complete some of the installation steps for you. You can install Cloud Pak for Integration on a cluster from one of the following cloud providers.

IBM Cloud Catalog

Use the IBM Cloud Catalog to deploy Cloud Pak for Integration to Red Hat OpenShift on an IBM Cloud cluster. The deployment automatically adds the catalog sources to the cluster, installs the operators, deploys the IBM Cloud Pak Platform UI, and deploys Automation assets.

To get started, see Installing on IBM Cloud.

Red Hat Marketplace

Use the Red Hat Marketplace to deploy Cloud Pak for Integration to any Red Hat OpenShift cluster that is connected to the Red Hat Marketplace. The deployment automatically adds the catalog sources to the cluster, then installs the operators. After that, you need to deploy instances such as the IBM Cloud Pak Platform UI. For more information, see Deploying the Platform UI by using the OpenShift console.

To register your cluster, see Clusters in the Red Hat Marketplace documentation.

To get started, see IBM Cloud Pak for Integration in the Red Hat Marketplace.
