Integrating AI Factsheets with IBM OpenPages

Integrate AI Factsheets with IBM OpenPages so that you can review machine learning models and related activity as part of your enterprise risk and compliance monitoring.

Enable OpenPages integration to share model and deployment facts from Watson Knowledge Catalog to OpenPages and model use cases from OpenPages to Watson Knowledge Catalog.

Enabling integration with OpenPages installed on same Cloud Pak for Data cluster

After you complete the integration and setup with IBM OpenPages, new model use cases will automatically appear in the model inventory. As you work with machine learning models in Cloud Pak for Data, attributes, metrics, and other details are shared with IBM OpenPages.

Note: Existing OpenPages model use cases are not added automatically to the model inventory. You must update any existing model use cases to include them.

Prerequisites

OpenPages must be configured for use with AI Factsheets. For details, see IBM OpenPages Model Risk Governance

Before you begin

Before you can enable integration with OpenPages, check for the following requirements and restrictions:

  • A user with Admin access to the Watson Knowledge Catalog or Watson Studio must first set up a Platform assets catalog.
  • You must have an IBM OpenPages service instance configured in Cloud Pak for Data cluster in the same namespace as AI Factsheets. You will not be able to change the instance after the integration.
  • If OpenPages is in System Admin mode or the service is unavailable, the sync updates are suspended. When the service is available, the sync resumes, but updates that happened when the service was not available are not be synced.

Enabling OpenPages

  1. From Watson Knowledge Catalog or Watson Studio, open the model inventory and click the Manage tab. This tab is only available to users with Admin access to the catalog.
  2. Click the tile for IBM OpenPages integration.
  3. Complete the details for connecting to OpenPages:
    • Select an OpenPages service instance.
    • Choose the name of an OpenPages user associated with the instance. The user must have the role template "MRG - AI Factsheets - API Access" assigned. The integration is associated with that username. Note that you can change the user details later, but you cannot change the service instance.
Note: After OpenPages integration is enabled, you can return to the IBM OpenPages integration page and turn it off. Turning OpenPages off does not remove any assets; it just stops syncing between OpenPages and Watson Knowledge Catalog.

Creating the Platform assets catalog

You are prompted to create a Platform Asset catalog if one does not exist. You create the Platform Asset catalog and then return to the model inventory to complete the task.

  1. Complete the details and specify file storage for the catalog.
  2. Click Create to create the catalog.
  3. Close the tab to return to the model inventory.
