The 2.3.28 release of IBM Match 360 includes the following features and updates:

Enhanced control over how entities select their attribute values from member records

Attribute composition rules now give data engineers finer control over how each master data entity's attribute values are selected from its member records. For example, you can specify whether the service prioritizes data that was more recently updated or data that appears more frequently across member records. If your organization has certain trusted record sources, you can specify that those sources should be considered the gold standard for your entity data. By defining and prioritizing a set of rules, you now have more control over which record attribute values are surfaced to the entity.

Connect relationship data by using the IBM Match 360 platform connection

You can now use IBM Match 360 connections to import and export relationship data between the IBM Match 360 service and connected data assets, catalogs, DataStage® flows, or Data Refinery flows. Relationship data helps you to explore the associations and interconnections between records to gain new insights about your master data.

Bug fixes

The 2.3.28 release of the IBM Match 360 service includes the following fixes:

• Issue: When importing a configuration snapshot into a newly created master data configuration instance, the matching settings cannot be imported.
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 configuration user interface and underlying logic was updated to resolve this issue.
• Issue: Data profile creation fails for data that was added to a catalog by using an IBM Match 360 platform connection.
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 connection was fixed to enable data profile creation.
• Issue: On FIPS-enabled clusters, you can encounter timeout errors for some API calls.
  Resolution: The API timeout limit was extended to avoid errors.

Support for FIPS 140-2

The 2.2.33 release of the IBM Match 360 service can be installed and used on a Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 compliant Red Hat® OpenShift® cluster. For more information, see Enabling IBM Match 360 for FIPS compliance.

Bug fixes

The 2.2.33 release of the IBM Match 360 service includes the following fixes:

• Issue: The IBM Match 360 CR can show an incorrect status of Completed.
  Resolution:  The IBM Match
  360 operator configuration was updated to resolve this issue.
• Issue: Successful bulk export jobs from DataStage to the IBM Match 360 connector can suddenly terminate and write an unclear error to the log.
  Resolution: The bulk update job was corrected so that the unnecessary error is no longer written to the log.
• Issue: After being restored, the IBM Match 360 service remains in an InProgress state for longer than expected.
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 operator configuration was updated to resolve this issue.

A new version of IBM Match 360 with Watson was released in December 2022 with Cloud Pak for Data 4.6.1.

This release includes the following changes:

New features

The 2.1.41 release of IBM Match 360 includes the following features and updates:

Master data entities are now persisted in the database

Each time the IBM Match 360 matching process runs and creates master data entities, the matching engine now saves the entities to its graph database. When an entity's attributes or composition changes for any reason, the persisted entities in the database are synchronized in near-real-time. Previously, entities were created by virtually linking matched records together by using an entity ID, rather than saving them as their own graph vertices.

With persisted entities, IBM Match 360 can now capture and store new system attributes for each entity in the system, including:

• The dates when an entity was created, was last updated, or had its record links updated.
• The users who created or last updated an entity.

These new system attributes enhance your ability to audit the data in IBM Match 360 to help ensure compliance with data governance rules.

Bug fixes

The 2.1.41 release of the IBM Match 360 service includes the following fixes:

• Issue: IBM Match 360 does not support offline backup or service shutdowns in Cloud Pak for Data 4.6.0.
  Resolution:  The IBM Match
  360 configuration was updated to enable offline backups and service shutdowns.
• Issue: After restoring IBM Match 360 from backup, some IBM Redis objects are omitted from the owner reference.
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 and IBM Redis configurations were updated to resolve this problem.
• Issue: The FoundationDB cluster can become unavailable.
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 operator configuration was updated to ensure that the FoundationDB connection string is kept current.
• Issue: Some IBM Match 360 pods might not function correctly and continuously restart on clusters that have resource constraints
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 configuration has been updated to prevent this issue from occurring.
• Issue: On AWS ROSA, the IBM Match 360 instance remains in a Pending state, making user access assignment impossible from the dashboard
  Resolution:  The IBM Match
  360 operator configuration was updated to better enable installation of the service on AWS ROSA.
• Issue: Import operations using the IBM Match 360 platform connector can fail

• Issue: When uninstalling a service instance that was restored from a backup, you must manually remove some objects.
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 configuration was updated so that objects get properly removed during uninstallation.
• Issue: When you update MCP on the cluster, some worker nodes can become stuck.
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 and ElasticSearch configuration was updated to prevent this issue.
• Issue: When the Cloud Pak for Data cluster is restarted, FoundationDB backup pods can erroneously get evicted.
  Resolution:  The FoundationDB configuration was updated to prevent this issue.
• Issue: The backup prehooks command fails with a timeout error.
  Resolution: The IBM Match
  360 custom resource configuration was updated to resolve this issue.
• Issue: Extra steps required to create or restore a backup of IBM Match 360 when it is shut down.

  360 and its dependencies was updated to resolve this issue.
• Issue: When a delimited data file with a header row is added to IBM Match 360 through the Cloud Pak for Data platform, the first row of data is not loaded into the service.

• Issue: You cannot view IBM Match 360 jobs on the Project > Jobs screen.
