Running a data quality analysis (Watson Knowledge Catalog)
Run a data quality analysis to identify the structure, content, and overall quality of your data.
The data quality analysis runs the following tasks:
- Runs column analysis if it hasn't been run before.
- Evaluates quality dimensions to identify data quality problems.
- Computes a data quality score for data assets and columns.
- Runs quality rules and automation rules.

Optionally captures sample data with data quality problems.

Go to Governance > Data quality > project name > Data assets.

Find the data asset that you want to analyze. To analyze more than one data asset, switch to the list view and select the data assets.

If you're in the list view, after you select data assets, click Analyze. In the tile view, select Analyze from the data asset menu. You can also open the data asset details page and click Analyze.

Select Analyze data quality.

The analysis is run with the default project settings. If you want to use other settings for this particular analysis, select Override default settings. For more information about settings, see the Project settings topic.

Click Analyze.

To check the status of the analysis, refresh your web browser.
Publishing the analysis results
When the analysis is finished, you can publish the results for one, or more data assets. When the results are published, they are available to other users in the default catalog, and other applications with access to metadata repository.
Complete one of these steps:
- In the data asset tile view, select Publish from the data asset menu.
- To publish results for more than one data asset at a time, switch to the list view, and select the data assets that you want to publish. Click Publish.
- Open the data asset details page and click Publish.
