Licenses and entitlements

Your deployment of IBM® Cloud Pak for Data includes licenses that determine the components and services that you are entitled to use.

License types

The following three license types are available for Cloud Pak for Data:
  • Trial license for non-production use
  • Standard Edition
  • Enterprise Edition

What is included with your Cloud Pak for Data license

Your purchase of a license for Cloud Pak for Data Standard Edition or Cloud Pak for Data Enterprise Edition, includes the following entitlements:

Images for most of the entitlements that are included with your Cloud Pak for Data license are available through the IBM Entitled Registry, but you must obtain some of the images from IBM Passport Advantage®.

When you register for a 60-day trial license, only Cloud Pak for Data components are included in the license. The trial does not include entitlement to the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.

Depending on the Cloud Pak for Data cartridges that you purchase, you might have more entitlements. For more information, see Entitlements for cartridges.
