Installing

You can install your automation containers for production and other development stages on Red Hat OpenShift.

Cloud Pak for Business Automation targets the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and the Managed Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Service (ROKS) on IBM Cloud®.

Cloud Pak for Business Automation can also be installed on Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) and on Amazon Web Services (ROSA).

Important: On both ROSA and ARO, resources such as database servers and LDAP servers are best located in the same Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) as the OCP cluster. If they are located in a different VPC, both VPCs must use VPC peering connections. The distance and latency between the two VPCs must be kept to a minimum to achieve good network connectivity and performance.

Managed Openshift Data Foundation (ODF) is the only supported storage provider on ROSA and ARO. The steps to install Cloud Pak for Business Automation on a ROSA or an ARO cluster are the same as on any OCP cluster. The Container Storage Interface (CSI) driver for AWS Elastic File Service (EFS) is now generally available (GA) for provisioning persistent volumes (PVs) on the OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). For more information, see AWS Elastic File Service CSI Driver Operator.
