Infrastructure Management

Infrastructure Automation – Infrastructure Management delivers the insight, control, and automation enterprises need to address the challenges of managing virtual environments, which are far more complex than physical ones. This technology enables enterprises with existing virtual infrastructures to improve visibility and control, and those just starting virtualization deployments to build and operate a well-managed virtual infrastructure.

Infrastructure management includes the following feature sets:

  • Insight: discovery, monitoring, utilization, performance, reporting, analytics, chargeback, and trending.
  • Control: security, compliance, alerting, policy-based resource and configuration management.
  • Automate: IT process, task and event, provisioning, workload management and orchestration.
  • Integrate: systems management, tools and processes, event consoles, CMDB, RBA, and web services.

Note: When the Infrastructure management component of Infrastructure Automation is installed, you can access the Infrastructure management UI from the IBM Cloud Pak Automation console UI by browsing to the menu: Automate Infrastructure > Infrastructure management. The documentation for Infrastructure management, including the menu navigation for documented procedures, is written from the context of first browsing to the Infrastructure management UI.

This documentation is delivered by various sources in the ManageIQ open source community. IBM accepts support tickets, and corrects documentation errors. Support and enhancement updates can also come from the open source community.
