Storage
IBM Cloud® Paks run on Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform clusters. As a result, applications don't run on pre-determined nodes in the cluster. Application data must be accessible from any node in the cluster. To ensure that the data is always accessible, IBM Cloud Paks require shared persistent storage. However, the supported storage providers depend on which IBM Cloud Pak® that you want to install.
Before you install an IBM Cloud Pak, ensure that you:
- Identify the appropriate storage providers for your use case
- Install and configure the storage
- Understand the read/write access required by the components that you plan to install
- Create the required storage classes for the components that you plan to install
Most IBM Cloud Paks support persistent storage from some component of IBM Storage Suite for IBM Cloud Paks. For more information about IBM Storage Suite for IBM Cloud Paks, see IBM Storage Suite for IBM Cloud Paks Documentation.
