Enhancements on the System Troubleshooting > System Logs page to generate Management Hypervisor logs
In this release of IBM Cloud Pak System, an enhancement is made on the System Troubleshooting > System Logs page of the IBM Cloud Pak System user interface to help you download Management Hypervisor logs. To download these logs, do these steps:
  1. From the IBM Cloud Pak System user interface, click System Troubleshooting > Collect System Logs > Collection sets.
A new checkbox is introduced in the corresponding window as follows:
    • Management Hypervisors
      • <SN#Hypervisor1-Name>
      • <SN#Hypervisor2-Name>
For example, the hypervisor name can be SN#A117X2Z for <SN#Hypervisor1-Name> and SN#B117X2K for <SN#Hypervisor2-Name>.
  2. Select the Management Hypervisors checkbox and click Submit to generate the logs.
Note: You can select one or both hypervisors from the options to generate the logs. To download the generated logs, wait for the process to complete.

The actual log file contains the name as vm-support-esxi-<SN#Hypervisor-Name>-<timestamp>.tgz, and it is embedded in the .tgz file.
