Modifying classic virtual system patterns

You can modify any classic virtual system pattern that is not read-only.

Before you begin

Note: The Virtual System Patterns (Classic) is not supported in IBM Cloud Pak SystemSoftware version 2.3.5 and later.

If a classic virtual system pattern can be modified, the edit icon is displayed next to it. If a classic virtual system pattern is locked and cannot be edited, the locked icon is displayed next to it.

To modify an existing classic virtual system pattern that is not read-only, you must be the creator of the classic virtual system pattern or have the correct user permission. The owner for each classic virtual system pattern is shown on the Patterns window for that classic virtual system pattern. If you do not have write access to the classic virtual system pattern that you want to modify, you can request access from that owner.

Procedure

  1. Click Patterns > Virtual System Patterns (Classic).
  2. Select a classic virtual system pattern.
  3. Click Edit in the toolbar.
  4. Modify the parts on the canvas by selecting a part from the list and dropping it onto the canvas.
    The canvas graphically shows the topology of the classic virtual system pattern. For information about the virtual system parts and the interaction between them, see the related links.
  5. Optional: Configure advanced options.

  6. Optional: Configure the order in which the parts are to deploy.
    For more information, see the related links.
  7. Click the Done editing icon.

Results

You finished modifying this classic virtual system pattern and it is now ready to be deployed to the cloud.
