IBM Cloud Orchestrator, Version 2.5.0.1

What is new

The following enhancements were introduced in the current release.

What is new in version 2.5.0.1

Enterprise Edition support
IBM® Cloud Orchestrator Enterprise Edition is now supported.
Migration support
You can migrate a non high-availability IBM Cloud Orchestrator environment with VMware or KVM regions which use Neutron networks from IBM Cloud Orchestrator V2.4 Fix Pack 2 or later fix pack to IBM Cloud Orchestrator V2.5.0.1 which uses IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack as OpenStack distribution.
High availability of the IBM Cloud Orchestrator management stack
High availability is provided by introducing redundancy and improved recovery for core software components of the IBM Cloud Orchestrator management stack. High availability is not provided for IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack components.

What is new in version 2.5

OpenStack support
IBM Cloud Orchestrator supports the Kilo version of OpenStack.
Based on IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack
You can install IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack, perform a set of reconfiguration steps, and then install the IBM Cloud Orchestrator specific components and connect it to this OpenStack instance. For information about IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack, see the IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack documentation.
Support for Bring Your Own OpenStack
Alternatively, you can install an OpenStack distribution of another vendor (Bring Your Own OpenStack). This distribution must satisfy a set of requirements and must be reconfigured before the IBM Cloud Orchestrator specific components are installed and connected to this OpenStack instance. For more information, see Configuring an OpenStack distribution of another vendor.
Microsoft Azure support
IBM Cloud Orchestrator supports Microsoft Azure as public cloud. For more information, see Managing Microsoft Azure.
OpenStack Heat support enhancement
Manage the OpenStack Heat templates by importing them in your environment or creating new templates. For more information, see Managing Heat templates.
Simplified installation of deployment topologies
The installation of the IBM Cloud Orchestrator specific components was simplified by removing the deployment service. Also, the deployment topology of the IBM Cloud Orchestrator was simplified by reducing the number of servers and reducing variations.
