Configuring Monitor data security

Perform administrative data security functions for a particular model. From the Configure tab, you can add a new or delete an existing resource group; add models to or delete models from a resource group; and add roles to and remove roles from a resource group.

Before you begin

You must have administrative privileges to perform Monitor data security administrative tasks.

About this task

To access this administrative console page, click Security > Monitor Data Security > Configure tab. You can also access this page for a particular monitor model by clicking Applications > Monitor Models, then selecting the model and clicking Change resource group.

Procedure

  1. From the Configure tab, choose from the following administrative options.
    • To create a new resource group:
      1. Click New. The Create a new resource group window is displayed.
      2. In the Name field, enter a name for the resource group.
      3. In the Description field, enter a brief description of the resource group.
      4. Click Apply.
    • To delete a resource group:
      1. Select the check box beside the resource group that you want to delete.
      2. Click Delete.
      3. At the prompt to confirm the deletion, click OK.
    • To add models to a resource group:
      1. In the Resource groups table, select the resource group that you want to add models to.
      2. In the Available field, select the model you want to add and click the arrow to add it to the Selected field.
      3. When all models that you are adding to the resource group are displayed in the Selected field, click OK.
    • To remove models from a resource group:
      1. In the Resource groups table, select the resource group that you want to remove models from.
      2. In the Selected field, select the model you want to remove and click the arrow to add it to the Available field.
      3. When all models that you are removing from the resource group are displayed in the Available field, click OK.
    • To add a role to a resource group:
      1. Expand the role that you are adding.
      2. If the role is associated with a user, click Edit under Users. If the role is associated with a group, click Edit under Groups.
      3. Search for the users or groups that you want to add and move them from the Available field to the Selected field.
      4. Click OK.
    • To remove a role from a resource group:
      1. Expand the role that you are removing.
      2. If the role is associated with a user, click Edit under Users. If the role is associated with a group, click Edit under Groups.
      3. Search for the users or groups that you want to remove and move them from the Selected field to the Available field.
      4. Click OK.
  2. Click OK.
