Creating and editing catalog entries

You can use simple catalog management functionality that is available in Software Use Analysis to maintain your custom catalog. You can create and edit custom publishers, software products, and simple signatures that are used to detect this software. However, the built-in functionality does not support the creation of complex signatures. To create complex signatures, use Software Knowledge Base Toolkit.

A signature can be edited only in the application in which it was created. If you use both simple catalog management functionality and Software Knowledge Base Toolkit for catalog customization purposes, entries from both sources are not overwritten. However, they might be duplicated. In such a situation, you can decide in which application you want to continue maintaining those entries.
