Volume threshold alerts
Volume Threshold Alerts sends you alerts based on volume thresholds you determine and enables you to monitor the amount of data that travels through your B2B Integration SaaS mailslot prior to receiving your monthly invoice.
If you are configured for Volume Threshold Alerts, you can do the following:
- Receive the following threshold alerts:
- Interchange size level alert
- Alert when the total number of bytes in an interchange exceeds a specified value.
- File size alert (if using non-EDI)
- Alert when the total number of bytes in a file exceeds a specified value.
- Daily level alert
- Alert when the number of kilocharacters processed in a day exceeds a specified value. You can allow the specified value to be different for each day of the week.
- Monthly level alert
- Alert when the total number of kilocharacters processed in a month exceeds a specified value. You can allow the specified value to be different for each month of the year.
- Allow the alerts to be configured by customer support or set your own alerts using Sterling Document Tracking.
- Allow alerts to be set up at the mailslot and EDI ID level.
- Allow the alerts to be sent to multiple recipients.
- Allow recipients to specify their own alert criteria.
For example, email mary@123.com when a threshold reaches 10 kilocharacters (10,000 characters), but do not mail joe@123.com until the threshold reaches 20 kilocharacters (20,000 characters).
For daily and monthly level alerts, you will receive one alert when the alert criterion is met for the specified time period. If you change your profile and increase the alert values, additional alerts might be generated. For example, mary@123.com receives a notification when her daily limit for Monday has reached 10 kilocharacters.
When using volume threshold alerts, you can view the kilocharacter counts for the current day and month. This will enable you to see how close you are to the thresholds values that you set up. For more information about setting up your alert criteria, see Setting up volume threshold alerts.
