Accessing the installer

Download and extract the installation image for App Connect for Manufacturing from the Passport Advantage® website.

Before you begin

Complete the following tasks:
  • Install App Connect Enterprise and the Toolkit V12.

    For more information, see Installing and uninstalling IBM App Connect Enterprise.

  • If you are accessing the package by using the Passport Advantage website, ensure that you have registered with Passport Advantage .
  • Before you select your installer, check which version of App Connect for Manufacturing you are licensed to install.

About this task

You can access the installer for App Connect for Manufacturing from a shared drive and access the shared resource from multiple computers.

You can also install from installation images that you can obtain from Passport Advantage website.

Note: Keep your IBM® App Connect for Manufacturing environment that is running at the latest fix level to ensure problem-free operation and also to get enhancements and new functionality. For more information, see Fix pack enhancements.
Attention: Any further references of App Connect for Manufacturing version within this documentation are made as 3.0.1.n.

The n denotes the latest App Connect for Manufacturing fix pack version.

Procedure

To use the installer from the Passport Advantage website, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Passport Advantage and Passport Advantage Express® website.
  2. Search for the eImage part number. Refer to Release summary part number table.
  3. Download the images that you require from the Passport Advantage website.
  4. Extract the contents of the images to a location of your choice.
    The supported operating systems and installers for App Connect for Manufacturing are shown in the following table.

    For example:
    • UnixLinux /root/installers
    • Windows C:\installers
    You can refer these directories as <DIST_DIR>.
    Note: If restrictions on some operating systems are reached, the depth of directory structure and the directory names might cause a problem. For example, the limit of 256 characters on Windows might be exceeded.

Results

The installation images are downloaded.
