The basic IBM Spectrum Scale structure

IBM Spectrum Scale is a clustered file system defined over one or more nodes. On each node in the cluster, IBM Spectrum Scale consists of three basic components: administration commands, a kernel extension, and a multithreaded daemon.

For more information, see the following topics:
  1. GPFS administration commands
  2. The GPFS kernel extension
  3. The GPFS daemon
  4. For nodes in your cluster operating with the Linux operating system, The GPFS open source portability layer
