Choosing and configuring the platform

You must enter values for a set of configuration parameters that allow IBM® Business Automation Configuration Container to install the selected products into a target namespace on IBM Cloud Private.

Before you begin

Request that the IBM Cloud Private administrator creates a number of namespaces in Kubernetes to better manage your workloads. The namespace is a parameter that you enter as part of the configuration for IBM Cloud Private, and is used for the deployment that is installed by Business Automation Configuration Container. For more information, see Planning for product installation and metering.

About this task

IBM Cloud Private 3.1.0 is the only supported platform.

When the target namespace is not the namespace where Business Automation Configuration Container is installed, you must create another persistent volume (PV) and another persistent volume claim (PVC) in the target namespace that points to the PVC folder assigned to Business Automation Configuration Container.

Procedure

  1. Enter the values for your platform: your master node in IBM Cloud Private, the namespace of the Business Automation Configuration Container release, and its PVC.

For more information, see Platform parameters.

The IP address and the cluster name you need for the docker repository and port is displayed in the IBM Cloud Private configuration commands when you click User Name > Configure Client in the Admin console. The IP address is also displayed in the message at the end of the IBM Cloud Private installation.

The PVC name for the installed configuration container can be found by clicking Platform > Storage > PersistentVolumeClaim in the IBM Cloud Private Admin console.

  2. Click Next.

What to do next

Select and then configure the products that you want to include in the deployment.
