Retrieving BPMN identifiers

By running specific GET queries, you can retrieve identifiers that are used in HDFS data lake paths and match them with BPMN processes. You can call these queries from any REST editor.

About this task

Paths in HDFS data lakes are documented in HDFS data paths.

IBM® Business Automation Workflow comes with a test tool which you can use for this purpose. For more information, see Testing REST APIs.
Tip: When processes are running from the Workflow Center, the version identifiers that are reported for the process might be those of the TIP snapshot (the generated internal identifier) rather than the previous named (user-versioned) snapshot. This behavior affects the HDFS paths for the various raw, time series, and summary events, and the version identifiers that are recorded in the files. The behavior is different in actual deployments of named (user-versioned) snapshots to Workflow Server because these snapshots do not change (no TIP). Therefore, as a developer working on Workflow Center, to avoid retrieving the identifier of the TIP snapshot, right-click the "camera" overlay icon, activate the snapshot you want, and then launch it in Process Portal.
