Db2 for LUW (Linux, UNIX, and Windows) prerequisites
This topic lists the limitations of using Db2 for LUW and the prerequisite software for automatically creating a Db2 for LUW database.
Important: It is recommended to use IBM AD V6.0.1.0 and Db2 for LUW only in a
non-production environment, due to the following two limitations:
- Performance limitations
- When multiple build-related actions are performed in parallel on the IBM AD projects, a slightly extended duration might be expected until all operations are complete; for example, upgrading the repository for one project while building another project.
- Security limitations
- TLS communication between the Db2 Server and IBM AD is not supported in the V6.0.1.0 release.
Prerequisite software for automatically creating a Db2 for LUW database
- For IBM AD project databases, the following prerequisite needs to be installed on the machine where IBM Build Client will be installed:
-
- IBM Data Server Client V11.5
- For Cross Applications database, the following prerequisites need to be installed on the machine where IBM AD Servers and Services will be installed:
-
- IBM Data Server Client V11.5
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 (for Windows only)
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 (for Windows only)
- For Annotations database, the following prerequisites need to be installed on the machine where IBM AD Servers and Services will be installed:
-
- IBM Data Server Client V11.5
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 (for Windows only)
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 (for Windows only)
User permissions
In IBM AD application, an operating system user account (Authentication ID) is used to work with the Db2 for LUW repository. The user account must have SYSCTRL authority in order to be able to create databases and to perform actions on the created databases. For more information, see the System control authority (SYSCTRL) topic.
